Bio

Sophia Frilot (she/her) was born and raised in Southern California. She began contemporary training at WESTSIDE Dance Project under the direction of Jessie Riley, where she worked closely with Bret Easterling, Jermaine Spivey, Spenser Theberge, Michaela Taylor, Alex Ketley, and Bryan Arias. She received the Young Artist Scholarship from the Laguna Dance Festival in 2017 and was the National YoungArts Foundation Winner in Dance Modern/Contemporary in 2019. She has attended numerous summer programs, including B12, Ballet BC, and GagaLabs in Tel Aviv and New York. At The Juilliard School, she studied under world-renowned instructors and performed works by Ohad Naharin, Hofesh Shechter, Spenser Theberge, Jermaine Spivey, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, and Rena Butler, amongst others. Along with this, she has been in music
videos for SIA and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Sophia extends her gratitude towards her family and everyone who has helped her get to this point. She looks forward to her future in dance.
